Traditionally, on the eve of the Day of Victory over Nazism in the Second World War, the SZRU would host a general meeting of its veterans with the leadership and staff.
This year, the world pandemic of a dangerous disease made us adjust the tradition spanning many years. Today, the staff, observing all quarantine precautions, will visit veterans in their homes, congratulate them on the holiday, thank them for their courage and heroism during the war, and give them commemorative medals “75 Years of Victory”. Veterans and widows of combat veterans will also receive direct charity aid from the Service.
Besides, veterans of the Foreign Intelligence will receive an annual honorarium. These honoraria elocated from the state budget, will be received by more than a million people on the eve of the Remembrance and Reconciliation Day and the Day of Victory over Nazism in World War II. These include war veterans, former juvenile prisoners of concentration camps, ghettos and other places of detention, combatants, victims of the Revolution of Dignity, those who have special merits to the Motherland, and some other categories of citizens.
