In June 2025, the rf recorded an increase (to 45 days) in the delivery time of goods from Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia. The reason for this is inspections at the customs of those countries, especially of dual-use products (electronics, server equipment and auto parts).

This tightening of control is due to the growth of transit volumes and the West’s intensification of efforts to fight “grey imports” to russia. The countries of Central Asia and the Caucasus are under foreign policy pressure from the EU and the USA, which makes them check sensitive cargoes more thoroughly. Despite its key role in russian logistics routes, Kazakhstan is also forced to fight “grey imports” in the medium term, which creates additional challenges for the rf.
