russia continues to develop its drone defense market. 60 % to 80 % of civilian industrial enterprises in russia have already equipped their territories with equipment to protect against UAV attacks. This includes physical protection (nets and shelters); electronic warfare equipment (russian and Chinese made); and means of kinetic destruction of UAVs (laser systems, interceptor drones, air-to-air and surface-to-air air defense systems).

A significant share of the equipment is imported from China, although the documents mention russia as the country of origin. Most of the buyers of anti-drone defense – companies of the fuel and energy sector – order a technical audit of the effectiveness of the purchased systems due to the unsatisfactory quality of production of such means of counteracting. Having purchased anti-drone systems, they increasingly face two problems: non-compliance with the declared technical characteristics of the equipment and incorrect placement of the equipment at the facility.

The number of users’ requests for various types of vulnerability assessment of industrial and critical infrastructure in 2024 ranged from 1 thousand to 2.8 thousand requests a month. As of April 2025, the figure has already exceeded 1 thousand requests per day.

Regular hits by the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine objectively assess the effectiveness of such “defence”.
