The EU has approved amendments to the Ukraine Facility reform plan necessary for Ukraine to receive new tranches of funding.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Kęstutis Budrys believes that the EU should soon put its “plan B” into action to unblock the start of negotiations with Ukraine.

In January-July this year, the average retail price of butter increased by 34 % to RUB 1,218 for 1 kg, of sour cream – by 22 % (to RUB 355 for 1 kg), of pasteurized milk with a fat content of 2.5-3.2 % – by 22 % (to RUB 95 for 1 liter), of cream – by 21 % (to RUB 373 for 1 liter), and of cheese – by 19 %. However, the prices that have already risen are not the limit: several producers have already informed retailers that they will increase their prices by another 10-15 % starting September 15.

All russian cities with more than one million inhabitants have recorded a decrease in sales in new buildings. The largest decline among million-plus cities was recorded in Krasnoyarsk (- 44  %), Krasnodar (-41 %) and Ufa (-37 %). In russia as a whole, demand for new buildings in the absence of preferential mortgages has declined by 19 % year-on-year.

More than 1 million russians suffer from Alzheimer’s disease, and their number is growing. According to the WHO, 55 million people worldwide suffer from the disease. By 2050, russia is forecasted to have  4 million patients with dementia.

russian schoolchildren who fail to pass the state exam to enter the 10th form will be sent for free training in working professions. The relevant draft law has been submitted to the state duma.

russia, along with Cuba, Iran and Venezuela, proposed to the UN to reduce investigations of human rights violations, citing the need to save money.
