Structure

The Law “On the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine” defines the structure of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.

The general structure of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (FISU) is comprised as follows:

- HUMINT units

- SIGINT units

- operational support units

- information and analysis units

- internal security units

- units established in accordance with the organizational structure of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, approved by the President of Ukraine

- regional units, various institutions, enterprises and organizations that FISU may initiate (not exceeding the total personnel number) to fulfill its tasking.

UNVEILED HISTORY

Yurii Sheveliov. The nkvd/kgb’s “Linguistic” Studies

The archives of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine have studied new materials on the prominent Ukrainian linguist, Slavicist, and literary critic Yurii Sheveliov (December 16, 1908 – April 12, 2002). They complement previously published research on the life and work of the scholar based on declassified documents, and shed light on the circumstances of the first manifestation of the nkvd’s operational interest in him, as well as the chekists’ targeted attention to his linguistic works throughout the decades that followed.
