Chairman of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine

History

 

Born July 4, 1970 in Taraz (Jambul), Kazakhstan.

Graduated from the Kyiv High Combined Arms Commanding College, the Kyiv Linguistic University, the Academy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine.

Also attended the course for NATO staff officers at the Netherlands Army Staff College and the Canadian Forces School of Military Intelligence.

Served in special forces units, in top positions in the Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Security Service of Ukraine.

In 1999–2002 served as a Defence Attaché at the Embassy of Ukraine in the United States.

In 2003–2004 served in top positions in the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of  Defence of Ukraine.

From   2004  to   2011 served in the Security Service of Ukraine, was  the Chief  of a  Department and the Chief of Staff of   the Head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

In 2014–2015 headed the Counterintelligence Department of the Security Service of Ukraine.

In 2015–2016 — Chief of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

From 2016 to 2019 — Deputy Head of the Administration of the President of Ukraine.

Candidate of Economic Sciences.

Took part in the peacekeeping mission in Iraq.

Participant of the ATO.

Awards: the Order of Bohdan Khmelnytsky, 3rd Class, and the medal “For Military Service to Ukraine”.

Married, has  three sons and a daughter.

June 5, 2020, by Decree of the President of Ukraine № 212/2020, was appointed the Chairman of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine.
