Center for Professional and Patriotic Education of the Foreing Intelligence Service of Ukraine

On January 24, our country celebrates the Day of Foreign Intelligence of Ukraine as a tribute to the Ukrainian intelligence officers’ significant contribution to the protection of Ukraine's national interests from external threats. It was on this day in 1919 that the temporary staff structure of the Political Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Directory of the Ukrainian People's Republic was approved, and the Foreign Information Department was established within it. The main task of the unit was to conduct intelligence work on enemies who were actively acting against the UPR – the headquarters of the Red and Volunteer armies, as well as on countries that were potential enemies and possible allies.

The exposition of the Center for Professional and Patriotic Education of the Service's employees covers different periods of the history of the creation and formation of the Foreign Intelligence and its units in the system of special services of Ukraine, including modern activities.

In its work, intelligence has always used the most modern developments and technical means. Some of the exhibits were real gems of scientific and technical thought in their time.

The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine carries out intelligence activities in the political, economic, military, technical, scientific, information, environmental and cybersecurity spheres.

russia’s armed aggression against our country has made certain adjustments, and today the units of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine are protecting the sovereignty and independence of our country as part of the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine.
