Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Oleh Ivashchenko Took Part in a Meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War

Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Oleh Ivashchenko took part in a meeting of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War, chaired by Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko.
The meeting was also attended by officials from the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Office of the President of Ukraine, the Security Service of Ukraine, the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, the Secretariat of the Human Rights Commissioner, and the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine.
The key issues discussed included:
– the progress of negotiations on the exchange of prisoners of war and the return of civilians, in particular the implementation of agreements reached in Türkiye this year;
– improving the regulatory and legal framework for the Coordination Headquarters’ activities;
– organizing the work of the Coordination Headquarters’ regional offices.
The Council decided to form separate working groups to deal with issues related to prisoners of war, repatriation of the bodies of fallen defenders, and reintegration of and post-isolation support for those released from captivity.
Separately, the participants of the meeting considered practical steps for the return of civilian hostages who are being illegally held in the rf and in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.
The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine will continue to implement a set of measures to protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens and will facilitate interagency coordination aimed at their speedy return home.
