Historical Artifacts Stolen by russia Are Being Returned to Ukraine Thanks to Cooperation with the United States

On September 23, as part of Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi’s official visit to the USA, the American side handed over to Ukraine valuable cultural artifacts ​​stolen by russia, which come from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine.

Thus, at the premises of Ukraine’s Permanent Mission to the UN, US Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Strategy, Policy and Plans Robert Silvers handed Mykola Tochytskyi 4 medieval iron sabers, dated to the 9th-13th centuries.

Another 7 valuable cultural objects ​​are currently in the process of identification by Ukrainian experts based on the photos provided.

“Each artifact returned is a small victory in our struggle for our identity and, ultimately, for our victory. Our artifacts are a symbol of the idea of ​​Ukraine, its desire for freedom and independence. And as long as we have our idea, we will live, fight and win”, emphasized Mykola Tochytskyi.

This operation was the result of successful cooperation between the MCSC, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, the Embassy of Ukraine in the USA, the National Museum of the History of Ukraine and the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
