Ukraine may receive another Patriot air defense system by the summer.
European Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius has said that the EU has the opportunity to significantly increase military support for Ukraine by purchasing weapons directly from Ukrainian manufacturers. “If putin isn’t convinced by Trump to make peace, we could bring forward more convincing arguments for peace very quickly – by greatly increasing our military support to Ukraine… Our support’s real value would rise to EUR 80 billion,” said Kubilius.
This year, Ukraine may receive 1.8 million units of artillery ammunition as part of the Czech Shell Initiative.
President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel has said that his country is already working on organizing the supply of artillery shells to Ukraine for 2026.
Ukraine and the Czech Republic intend to open an F-16 school as part of an Aviation Coalition.
Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala has said that his country will train Ukrainian pilots on F-16 and F-39 fighter jets on its territory within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing. He also said that the Czech Republic has employed 160,000 Ukrainian refugees.

He only needs to make a decision, but so far he has not expressed such a desire,” the Czech President said.

At its plenary session on May 5–8, the European Parliament will address the issue of establishing a lasting and just peace in Ukraine, as well as return of children unlawfully deported by russia from temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories.

US President Donald Trump does not rule out the possibility of signing Republican Senator Lindsey Graham’s bill to strengthen sanctions against russia. “It depends on whether or not russia is behaving toward coming to a peace,” said Trump.
On May 6, the European Commission will present in Strasbourg a plan for the EU to cut off russian energy supplies, its Spokesperson Stefan De Keersmaecker said. The European Union plans to completely stop importing russian gas by 2027.
