Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal's Greetings on the Day of the Foreign Intelligence of Ukraine

On this day 102 years ago, the first national intelligence unit was created in the Ukrainian People's Republic. And the Department of Foreign Information for intelligence work began to function as part of the Political Department of the Directory of the Ukrainian People's Republic.
Today, the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine carries out intelligence activities in the political, economic, military-technical, scientific-technical, informational and environmental spheres.
In 2020, on the basis of the information provided by the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine, more than 140 important decisions were made in the field of protection of Ukraine's national interests.
The Service assisted in concluding contracts in military-technical cooperation with foreign countries for a total of almost 220 million US dollars.
All in all, in 2020 the financial and economic effect of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine's activity amounted to about 7 billion hryvnias.
For the most part, your work, which you do qualitatively, professionally and courageously, is invisible to most of our citizens. But it is vital and important serving our Motherland, for which we thank you!
