The Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine points out a number of signs of how the rf is using artificial intelligence tools for propaganda, disruptive activities and undermining trust in democratic institutions.

There are signs of russia’s using OpenAI models of artificial intelligence to create fake news and spread propaganda, as well as to target audiences on social media.

The rf also uses trolls and botnets to expand its capabilities on platforms such as Telegram and WeChat.

Besides, lately there has been a trend to russia’s pursuing the coordinated with China information policy through traditional media. The parties exchange content between russian media (RT and Sputnik) and Chinese media (CGTN and Global Times). For this purpose, in 2017, they even developed a mobile application called China-Russia Headlines, which provides news content about russia and China.
