russia Is Preparing for a Shock Oil Price – $40 for a Barrel
8/10/2025

According to a report by the russian foundation “Roscongress”, global oil prices at the end of 2025 – early 2026 may fall to $40–50 for a barrel. Currently, a barrel costs $66–68, but the market is experiencing a “new price war”.
The OPEC+ oil agreement is falling apart: Saudi Arabia is increasing oil production, creating an oversupply. Shale industry exporters are also adding their voice, rapidly increasing drilling despite the price.
Additional pressure on the market is being exerted by the slowdown in the economy of China, as well as the increase in oil exports from Brazil, Guyana, and Norway. Geopolitical risks, which previously pushed prices up by several dollars, now have little effect on prices. As a result, global oil supply is growing faster than demand.
