40 % of russian citizens want to live in a country where current income equality is ensured. Income inequality concerns 51 % of respondents – the highest indicator among all social problems. Inequality in access to healthcare (27 %) is second, and inequality in housing conditions goes third.

All in all, 92 % of the population acknowledge that there are acute social inequalities in modern russia. More than 75 % say that this personally bothers them. At the same time, a paradox is observed: most russians perceive inequality as part of the “rules of the game” in the unjust society in which they live, or simply go with the flow.

Against the background of rising costs of the war against Ukraine, an increase in the number of casualties, and an expected tax hike in 2026, no sociological research is being conducted on these topics. The authorities are avoiding recording public opinion on the most sensitive issues – military losses and the fiscal burden.
