The Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Took Part in the First Meeting of the Council of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War

The first meeting of the Council of the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War took place.
The new governing body was created to formulate coordinated interdepartmental strategic positions of the Coordination Headquarters.
The event was chaired by Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov. The meeting was attended by Head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine Oleh Ivashchenko, Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov, Head of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Maliuk, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets, and Secretary of the Coordination Headquarters Dmytro Usov.
A number of issues raised concerned the activities of the negotiation team and the formation of the Public Council of the Coordination Headquarters.
They also discussed problematic issues of freeing defenders of Ukraine and civilians from captivity of the aggressor state, the need to amend legal acts for better fulfillment of the tasks set, and formation of representative centers (working groups) of the Coordination Headquarters in all regions.
As a result of the meeting, the participants determined priority areas for further cooperation and first steps to speed up the process of returning Ukrainian military servicemen and civilians from enemy captivity.
