The russian orthodox church has declared the need to integrate migrants and prevent the formation of closed ethnic groups that could threaten the stability of the rf. This was emphasized at a meeting of the executive body of the russian orthodox church – the supreme church council.

The supreme church council of the russian orthodox church has also supported the activities of the far-right nationalist organization “russian community”. The group positions itself as a mutual aid network for “russian people”,  but  actually acts as a pro-kremlin instrument of influence, actively supporting the government’s policies, including the war against Ukraine and repressions inside the country. The organization conducts anti-migrant raids, cooperates with law enforcement agencies, and participates in the suppression of opposition movements.

The congress of church officials demonstrated a clear synchronization of the russian orthodox church’s  actions with the kremlin’s official position on domestic and foreign policy, while  the increased support for nationalist movements and anti-immigrant rhetoric is part of the roc’s course to increase its influence in society.
