US Vice President J. D. Vance has pointed out that any potential peace plan between Kyiv and moscow must “stop the killings while preserving Ukraine’s sovereignty”.

Prime Minister of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre has noted that a number of European states are discussing proposals for a “peace plan” prepared by the USA. “This opportunity must be seized, but to do so, Europeans must unite and create a counterweight in areas where this proposal is unlikely to be accepted,” said Støre.

“Ukraine’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and existential security interests are key to achieving this goal. The path to peace is often difficult, so all of Ukraine’s partners and friends must work together to achieve the best outcome,” President of Latvia Edgars Rinkēvičs said of a potential peace agreement.

“Any peace initiative must not be based on Ukraine’s capitulation. We fully support President Zelenskyy and Ukraine in their just struggle for freedom,” said President of Lithuania Gitanas Nausėda.

“...As in stalin’s time, these crimes are aimed at destroying Ukraine’s identity, culture, and suppressing its will to exist as an independent state,” said Margus Tsahkna, Estonia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the Day of Remembrance of the Victims of the Holodomor.

“The famine was punishment for the Ukrainians’ resistance during the soviet occupation... Now russia continues to use food and trade as weapons and uses famine to gain geopolitical advantages around the world,” said Lithuania’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Today we remember the Holodomor and honor the memory of millions of Ukrainians who died as a result of the artificial famine of 1932-1933. Ninety years later, the kremlin is again committing serious violations of international law in Ukraine. The investigative commission has established facts of systemic and widespread practices of torture of Ukrainian civilians and prisoners of war. Justice must prevail,” emphasized Minister of Foreign Affairs of Sweden Maria Malmer Stenergard.

“The famine orchestrated by stalin’s regime led to the deaths of millions of Ukrainians. Famine should never be used as a weapon,” Austria’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out on the Day of Remembrance of the Holodomor Victims.

“On Holodomor Remembrance Day, we honor the millions of people who died as a result of the artificial famine aimed at destroying the Ukrainian people. Despite the terrible suffering and human losses, it did not break the Ukrainian spirit. Today, russia is again trying to destroy the Ukrainian nation and identity. Ukraine will win”, reads the statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia.

Politicians, public figures, and historians – about 20 signatories – from Germany, Poland, and Ukraine sent a letter to the Ministry of Education of Germany, calling for the inclusion of the Holodomor in the school history curriculum.

“This brutal war must end, and russia should not win it. Because this is also a war for the future of our children,” said Prime Minister of Poland Donald Tusk.
