The Netherlands will provide EUR 178 million to help Ukraine prepare for winter and develop distributed generation. The country is also preparing to transfer decommissioned gas turbines as early as this autumn.
The government of Sweden has decided to allocate a new aid package to Ukraine totaling nearly 1.5 billion kronor (about EUR 140 million) for 2026 to support the energy sector.
The IMF plans to approve the next tranche for Ukraine, amounting to $690 million, by mid-July of this year.
The World Health Organization and the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida) have announced the launch of a new multi-year cooperation project aimed at supporting the long-term recovery and transformation of Ukraine’s healthcare system. Sweden will provide approximately $26 million (240 million Swedish kronor) to support this initiative.
“We have proposed a significant support package for Ukraine – approximately EUR 100 billion for the next budget period (2028–2034) – and this funding will be contingent on meeting reform requirements,” said Director of the Ukraine Service in the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Enlargement and the Eastern Neighbourhood (DG ENEST) Anna Jarosz-Friis regarding the prospects for EU support for our country.
As part of URC-2026, Naftogaz has signed an agreement with the US EXIM Bank that provides for the possibility of securing up to $300 million to purchase American equipment needed to restore the oil and gas infrastructure destroyed by russia.
