Ukraine Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Constitution

Today we are celebrating not just another birthday of the Main Law of our country, but first of all- the symbol of our independence and unity, the guardian of our statehood and democracy.

The current Ukrainian Constitution is not without reason recognized as one of the most democratic and unique in the world, because it has absorbed the best achievements of previous generations in establishing the all-conquering idea of ​​human rights. It has crystallized our national idea, mentality, will and aspiration of Ukrainians to their own national statehood.

Rus’ Justice and Lithuanian Statutes, Magdeburg Law and Hetman Pylyp Orlyk’s Constitution, Central Rada’s Universals and the Constitution of the Ukrainian State of 1918. By creating the best examples of legal thought and law-making, the freedom-loving Ukrainian people have made a worthy contribution to the formation of world progressive ideas about human rights and responsibilities.

Today, it depends on each of us, on our work and self-awareness as worthy descendants of the great Ukrainians who created the nation, whether the Constitution will become for Ukrainians a Book of Books, and not just a law.
