“The EU Council has approved the EU's general positions, in particular the negotiating framework, for accession negotiations with Ukraine and Moldova. This paves the way for the launch of negotiations on Tuesday, June 25 in Luxembourg”, the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the EU said in a statement. The day before, the Parliament of the Netherlands voted to approve the negotiating framework for Ukraine and Moldova’s accession to the European Union, removing the last obstacle to the formal start of this process.

White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby has confirmed that the United States will prioritize the supply of anti-aircraft missiles to Ukraine over other states that have placed orders.

“We’ve seen russia’s military targeting Ukrainian cities. We’ve seen them targeting energy infrastructure, making clear that they want to turn the lights off and turn the heat off when winter rolls back around. And so it has been clear to us that we needed to do something to increase Ukraine’s air defence capabilities”, Spokesperson for the US Department of State Matthew Miller commented on Washington's decision to prioritize Ukraine in the supply of   interceptor missiles for air defense systems.
