The 17th package of military aid to Ukraine from Sweden includes six Combat Boat 90 combat boats, Robot System 70 man-portable air defense systems, anti-tank mines and grenade launchers.

Minister of Defence of the Netherlands Ruben Brekelmans has said that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are allowed to use the weapons supplied by the Netherlands to bomb military targets in russia.

Chief of the General Staff of the Czech Republic Karel Řehka has called on the West to allow Ukraine to strike military targets in russia.

Latvia will provide Ukraine with computer equipment and gear for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Pawel Kowal, the Polish government's commissioner for Ukraine’s recovery, has said  that his country has a good energy aid package for Ukraine.

The European Commission has announced that it will soon provide Ukraine with an additional million of school textbooks.

Marc Cools, President of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe, has  condemned the so-called russian “elections” in temporarily occupied Ukrainian Crimea and Sevastopol. The government of Norway has made a similar statement.

The European Court of Justice in Luxembourg has allowed to confiscate the income of European companies that act as intermediaries in the sale of military equipment to the rf, even if this equipment has never been imported into the EU.

Chief of the Norwegian Foreign Intelligence Service, Vice Admiral Nils Andreas Stensønes, believes that russia has become more likely to try and sabotage its critical infrastructure, with oil and gas facilities the prime targets.

Google has banned the creation of new accounts using mobile phone numbers registered in the rf.

Due to the US sanctions, Wix, an international cloud platform for creating professional websites and developing Internet projects, will be closed to users from the rf starting September 12, and all russian accounts will be blocked and removed from the platform.

The ICANN Corporation (which regulates issues related to domains and IP addresses) will require applicants for new top-level domains to comply with the US sanctions. Therefore, sanctioned russian companies will not be able to apply for registration in 2026.

Latvia’s authorities are considering a ban on real estate sales for russians.

During June and August, russians bought by 10 % less clothing and footwear, as reported by the analytical company focus technologies. Goods went up by 17 % during this period.

Due to the shortage of auto parts, the rf’s ministry of industry and trade has authorized the import of spare parts for Kia and Hyundai cars to the rf under “parallel imports” – without official permission from the manufacturers.

The state legal department of the president of the rf has proposed to deprive small and medium-sized businesses, IT companies, charitable organizations and those working in the territories of “advanced” development of the right to pay social contributions at reduced rates (0–20 %), and to oblige them all to pay 30 % of their employees' salaries to the “social fund” starting from 2028.

According to  a study by the “higher school of economics” national research university, 30.6 % of russians decided not to have a child because of russia's war against Ukraine, the political and economic crisis in russia, and financial problems.

The rb’s officials are going to adopt tax changes to allow regional councils to permanently introduce a local fee for vehicles crossing the state border to travel to the EU. Currently, this tax is a temporary measure. The state border committee of the rb previously stated that this fee is “aimed at combating coronavirus infection”.

gosstandart of the rb has banned the sale of two types of russian ice cream produced by “fabrika gryoz” from nizhny novgorod region. The sweets contain twice the amount of inorganic milk fat substitute.

According to belstat, non-food products in the country went up by 4.4 % in August compared to last year, while food products went up by 7.3 %. Paid services increased by 6 % over the same period.

In the first eight months of 2024, 117 suicides were committed in the rb’s vitebsk region alone – 103 men and 14 women.

self-proclaimed president of the rb lukashenko has signed a decree raising the age limit for recruitment to the internal affairs bodies from 25 to 28 years due to the change in the age limit for service from 45 to 48 years.

Military delegations from Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea have arrived in the rb. According to the ministry of internal affairs, the main aim of the visit is to exchange experience and observe combat training.
